1 · Apply for a submission slot

Charter operates on a verified-client basis. Every sample submitted to us is tied to a pre-approved client account so chain-of-custody is intact from the bench to our HPLC. Before your first shipment, request approval — we verify the requester, issue a Submission Authorization ID, and send the chain-of-custody form and our receiving address.

Email hello@charterbioanalytics.com with:

• Your name and organization (or research entity)
• What you'd like tested (compound identity and approximate sample count)
• Which service tier (Identity, Comprehensive, Endotoxin-only, Blend Comprehensive)
• Whether this is a one-time submission or anticipated standing account

Approval turnaround is typically 3-5 business days. Once approved you'll receive a Submission Authorization ID, the chain-of-custody form (pre-populated with your account details), our receiving address, and shipping instructions.

2 · Package the sample

Standard packaging requirements:

• Lyophilized peptides: original vial, sealed, cap intact. No reconstituted material.
• Place vial(s) in a small zip-top bag inside a rigid mailer or padded envelope.
• For temperature-sensitive samples, include 1–2 gel packs (frozen). Charter does not require cold chain for lyo samples — but we accept them.
• Tape the signed chain-of-custody form (sent to you with your Submission Authorization) to the outside of the inner bag.
• Mailer/envelope clearly labeled with our address (below) and your return address.

3 · Ship to the address we provide

When ready, use any traceable carrier (USPS Priority, UPS, FedEx). Tracking is required on every shipment. Receipt is logged on the same business day if delivered before 3 PM MT.

4 · Receive your report

You'll receive a confirmation email within 2 business hours of sample receipt, referencing your Submission Authorization ID. Identity tier reports return in 3 business days, Comprehensive in 5. Each report is delivered as a single-page PDF along with a Verify ID for permanent lookup at /verify.

FAQ

How much sample do I need to send?

Minimum 5 mg of lyophilized material for Identity tier. Comprehensive tier requires 15 mg minimum (preserves enough material for replicate testing and a retain).

Can I submit a reconstituted sample?

No. Charter only accepts lyophilized samples. Reconstituted material introduces interference factors we cannot control for.

What if my sample fails?

Your report is delivered regardless of verdict. A failed report is just as useful as a passed report — both are evidence. You can choose whether to share the report with your customer or supplier.

Does Charter retain samples?

We retain a 3 mg minimum sample of every submission for one year for retest purposes. After one year, retains are destroyed per our sample-disposal SOP.
